I'm looking to buy a guitar, but am confused by the difference between a classical type and an acoustic type. Could someone help me out please?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Classical guitars are made for playing individual notes present in classical style music, therefore have a wider fret board and the lower strings are not metal. Normal acoustic guitars have all metal strings and a norrower fret board and are easier for playing chords etc. It really depends on what type of music you want to play. The main rule however is "don't by a cheap one" They are hard to play and the sound is poor and that is what will stop you making good progress or put you off altogether.
