i have recently tried to put extra tunes onto my ipod from my itunes library..
These tunes have transferred zok, but a very big but, lots of tunes now show an exclamation mark before the title. and show this message "the song ????? could not be used because the original file could not be found.. would like to locate it.. when i press yes it asks me for file name.. I dont have a clue what this means can anybody help at the moment the above applies to approx 100 tunes help hellp help

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.It sounds like you have moved the location of the original files from when you first played them via iTunes to the present.
When the box pops up asking you if you would like to locate them, click yes and then type in a relevant word from the title of the track (this will save time as opposed to typing in the full title) in the search box.
After that, iTunes usually searches for all the other missing files and locates them.
