downloads in the charts

if you download an album does that count to the album chart?

if you download an album that includes a current single does the single get counted to the singles chart?

& what about downloading old tracks, they have been released on single so will they get back into the charts?

 I think I read that only the music that has been paid for is counted in the charts. Otherwise Barry Manilow would be no.1 all the time as I download soooo much of him - should I get a life??

No they dont count towards the UK chart but Radio 1 do a download chart which they take about the 10 most popular download sites and make a download chart from this. Not sure if they do a album download chart im sure they do but i cant be positive but i know they definitely do a single chart.

Downloaded singles ARE now included in the singles charts.  I think it started this week.  Albums are not though and if you buy or download an album that contains a current single, it doesn't count towards the singles chart.
