Neil Aspinall was, throughout his life, and that of the band, custodian of their business affairs. A schoolfriend of Lennon and McCartney, he became their first road manager, then personal assistant, graduating to be head of their Apple Corps business.
Aspinall made it a firm rule that no Beatles track would never appear on a compilation, or in any advert for film or tv.
Since his death in 2008, that rule appears to have relaxed, ans Beatles' songs (but not the originals) are creeping into adverts on TV, and a compilation entry may not be that far away.
That is the reason why no Beatles song has been featured on a 'hits' compilation to date.
