Bit vague im afraid, imagine a fast ticking clock in the background, and flute being played,an upbeat song, and used in quite a few kids tv programmes.

Thanks for all efforts.

You are thinking of Gurney Slade by Max Harris used in Vision On

Just wondering if it's something from Peter and the Wolf by Prokoviev?
My first thought was the start of Mouldy Old Dough but I doubt it's that
Could you name any of the programmes that have featured this tune?
Is it 'classical' or more of a crossover-techno type track?
Is it this? May be a modern reworking.

Question Author
no,the ticking sound in the background is a bit faster than this one,im beggining to wonder if in fact it is a classical piece.
was it on British tv childrens shows, recently? as you say a bit vague, and there seems to be loads of music featuring ticking clocks.
Could it be the 2nd Movement of haydn's clock symphony? I'd post a link but I can't do it on iPad.
Question Author
No not haydn either,i am trying to put a badly whistled home-made riff on youtube at the moment.
I'm wondering if it might be "Portsmouth" by Mike Oldfield -
