what kind of  music does everyone like?

i like all kinds. some of my fav. groups are, the doors, iron maiden, biggy, 2 pac, garth brooks, the alman bros, lynard skynard,led zepplin, old school madonna, samantha fox.........and so on

I like pretty much all styles 'cept Cr*p dance tunes which repeat one line from an oldie over and over again. nad iam not a great fan of R n B (not real rhythm and blues, the stuff they call RnB even though it isn't), but some songs still get me dancing.

magic i don't really understand what it is that you like. the music in our countries is differant. i do know brit, and i think she sucks. most of the new people in the music ind. only made it cause they have sex appeal! they wouldn't know tallent if it bit them in the arse! no offence to what you like. to each their own. i'm sure you don't like what i do. i just think music today sucks. give me the old stuff! kid rock is good. what do you think?by the way i'm angie.

I enjoy a bit of everything really, 70's & 80's is good.  My choice seems to change with my mood, and at the moment I seem to be listening to New age and ambience.  Enigma are fantastic, its like new age with attitude!!!  Anyone agree?

angie, at least 2/3 of the bands i named are american. my taste is pretty eclectic, although most of the bands i like fall under the genre of hardcore/post-hardcore/emo/pop-punk/screamo (whatever that is!) and although a few of them make it into the charts the majority aren't very well-known. quite of few of them are still unsigned, unfortunately, but their gigs generally manage to pack out small venues. what you said about music today sucking is true, but that tends to be because mainstream music is so commercialised and heavily influenced by what their record companies think will sell, whereas i really respect the bands that do what they love until someone else loves their music enough to get them a record contract. sadly, it seems that when this happens bands tend to sell out. take alkaline trio - their first album was a brilliant piece of upbeat vibrant pop-punk fun, whereas the album that they're due to release in a month or so is overproduced - their vocalist has been given vocal coaching, they've got synthesisers in and whereas originally their music had some dark themes, this has been taken to the extent where it's just comical. crimson probably will be their breakout album, which is sad because it is by no means as good as any of the preceding stuff.
