an elderly neighbour asked me to find out some music she'd heard on classic fm. I didn't get around to it straight away, and have just found out that their search thingydoesn't go back far enough.
Does anyone know what she means by:

violin concerto in c by p**** Langer mueller?
or
f. chopin Impromptu in flat major on piano by imogen cooper?

Violin Concerto in C major by Peter Lange-Muller
Fantasie-Impromptu by Frederic Chopin; played by Imogen Cooper Media URL: http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=chopin%20impromptu%20&source=web&cd=1&ved=0CCQQtwIwAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3Dtvm2ZsRv3C8&ei=pMPbTva6MIO-8gOz-5C7DQ&usg=AFQjCNFYbBZGVPTfuB3HyE8njAm-upK4iA&sig2=AXP9BqWMT6LTdYDrB4WVrg
Description:
Could it be Schubert impromptu in A or B flat major ?

The first one is easy:
http://www.prestoclas...stra-in-C-major-Op-69

However Imogen Cooper's agent doesn't list any relevant work by Chopin within her repertoire:

The music night be this but Amazon doesn't list any recording of it by Imogen Cooper:

Another possible piece of music. (Without the key being provided in you question - i.e. WHAT flat major? - it's hard to guess)

it's like a bloomin foreign language to me!
Thank you so much. I do search for ages but they all look the same!
Is a concerto the same as a symphony?
A symphony is written for an orchestra as a whole.

A concerto is written for a solo instrument, (e.g. piano, horn or violin), performed by a virtuoso player who is supported by a symphony orchestra.
