If a band is miming on a TV show the drummer obviously can't be silent. How is that managed and what drum sounds do the studio audience hear - live or recorded?
Drummers can use foam pads that sit on each drum and cymbal to kill the sound. The audience won't here over the pre recorded music played through the PA.
