X-Factor wannabes will always rely on the strngth of a good song to prop up the weakness of basic ability and any hope of a long-lasting career. Those who actually have the necessary ability, coupled with the right management, image makers and writers, can go on to climb over this initial faltering step to stardom, but this is really not good enough at all.
Remember the large lass who puctured Adele's masterpiece and had everyone blubbing everywhere? I opined at the time that it was the song, and not her that made the impact and after she got knocked out and is utterly forgotten, and Adele scooped seven Grammys, my point is somewhat proven.
Writing, singing, performing and lasting all require genuine ability, and as talent shows' winners and losers continue to demonstrate, you either havie it, or you don't.
