The Day the Music Died... actually andy hughes, as usual is correct, except that on February 3, 1959, the three were killed in a small single engined aircraft that crashed shortly after take-off from Storm Lake, Iowa. This was about 1:00 in the morning during a snow storm. Waylon Jennings bantered with Buddy Holly that he hoped the plane would crash... Jennings carried the memory of what he had said to his close friend to his own death...
I'm not suggesting that Andy's wrong, but can anyone confirm that Jim Bruce also started "Aint misbehavin'" with the same words? When we were kids my oldest sister got a record player for Christmas and our auntie gave us loads of 78s. I'm sure one of them was the above record.
