In the 70's every week there were two half hour documentaries. One called World in Action and one called This Week.

One of them had a thundering peice of late classical music as a theme.

Does anyon know what that peice of music was?

The theme to this week is the intermezzo from the karelia suite by Sibelius. As I remember the world in action theme was played on a hammond organ, but don't know the name of this one.
Don't forget Weekend World with Bwian Walden - good bit of music that was too. (By 'Mountain', I believe.)
I always thought Weekend World used House of the King by Focus, (Unless I'm getting my programmes muddled up, it was definitely a weekend political programme that used it).
Weekend World's music was indeed by Mountain - it was a piece called Nantucket Sleighride. It certainly wasn't classical - it had guitar all over it!
