Eurovision!

I am awaiting this year's Eurovision and wondered whether anyone would like to make a bet about the outcome. Every year after year the votes are purely political and it really hacks me off!! Will nobody vote for us this year because of Iraq? We have a good tune and a great performer, and we deserve to do well!!

Think of a country that is very strictly politically correct,  and has never invaded any other country and who has shores that are open to anyone who wants to claim them as home.  They have never caused any polution, and have scientists who can find cures for every ill known to humankind.  It's not real and neither is the contest.  I'm feeling cynical today Scarlett!

Have just seen Norway and am now at this second watching Moldova. Classic stuff!!! The Moldovan tune is good but not great, but the performance is brilliant and has an entertainment factor about as high as it can get! It's all good fun. He's just finished the song by shouting "Let's make love!!" They won't win and neither will Javine probably, but who cares, it's just light entertainment and won't affect the world in any meaningful way. Have a happy evening watching and vote for Moldova!!!!!

for the last two years, we had scoresheets.

points were awarded for groups with more than one race/gender in them, nudity, overly coordinated costumes, dance routines, novelty facial hair, singing in multiple languages, being incredibly camp, and other similar categories.

a group of us spent the evening filling them in, drinking, and ridiculing performances (and showing terry wogan the necessary love) and we added up the scores at the end and voted for the winner.

both years, we accurately predicted the top three, in the right order & everything! this is what it's all about.
