For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Very nice Laura, the only thing that I notice with a lot of your songs you sit down, strap your guitar up, stand up proud, sing loud, maybe jump up and down and shake you arms and stresses out before you start the recordings.
Also, don't forget to breathe, take at least two deep breaths before you need to sing and hold it, this will also calm nerves a little too.
Also, if need be, mark it on your lyrics the best places to take breaths as not to spoil the vocals by running out of breath or to get light headed.
This is all positive stuff, you still are sounding great !

To add to the Cockney Si's reply, you have an interesting voice but would benefit greatly from some vocal coaching from someone who understands breathing technique and phrasing style. There's really nothing wrong with the timbre or quality of your voice - you just need to learn how to use it properly!
For example, in the first line of the final verse, you place far too much stress on the word "was". I appreciate that you aren't Chuck Berry, of course, but if you listen to the original again you'll hear how he almost doesn't pronounce that word at all. Nevertheless, you interpreted the song in a totally different style, which is the only way to do a cover version, I feel.
Finally, I still don't understand why you continue to feel that you need anybody's approval for your singing - just get out there and do it!
