I agree, Ladybirder
Sorry, with Andre Rieu on Sky Arts, - won't miss the 5th, 6th or 9th though
negative.
but as a classical music fan - i am recording it

i do like the eroica suite
Question Author
The Eroica was my mother's favourite piece of music so very emotional for me.
> i do like the eroica suite

I don't know that one.
ladybirder.
i understand about the emotion you feel.

do you enjoy the proms as a whole?
i can get quite caught up in them at times.
I couldn't tape it tonight as I'm currently taping Henry V - best beloved is home tonight (usually he's working) and he likes Andre, so Andre it is! He doesn't know much about music but he knows what he likes!
Don't listen to the Eroica much, my particular favourite Beethoven symphony is the 6th
eroica is really the only beethoven i like
i'm more of a mozart fan.

although bizet can be ok - if i'm in the mood for it.
Question Author
Yes I do, very much. My first love is the opera though - no contest.
Regarding the emotion bit - it's probably not what you think. She (mother) didn't like me, I didn't like her, about the only thing we had in common was a love of classical music. Oh and we both quite liked my brother:-) But my brother didn't like my mother either:-(
Bet you wished you hadn't commented excel, sorry.
BTW, can I say you are looking very handsome tonight.
drat I can't inflict that on OH. His 7th is my favourite.
Question Author
MOZART's my favourite as well, especially the operas, and especially Cosi fan Tutte.
did not mean to upset you about your mother (sorry)

thanks for the avatar complement though.
If you miss something like that you can get it again on catch-up with the iplayer.
You can then record the audio only using software like Freecorder or Audacity. Both of these are free.

Not upset at all in the slightest. Just a pity things couldn't have been different. But all water under the bridge now.
Prudie, love the 2nd Movement of the 7th.
Thanks Howard. Very useful.
It's that movement that makes it my favourite ladybirder.
