Is this a trick question?!

You blow through a reed which reverberates and the sound is magnified in the tube of the saxophone... the metal of the saxophone affects the way the sound reverberates, as does placing your fingers on the different keys, which adjusts the pitch of the sound.  The whole lot comes out through the hole in the bottom of the instrument.
