Was '10538 overture' a B side?

(intended to be for the move it seems, but ended up being ELOs first single instead)

Yes chuck - I also remember 'Round Are (sic) Way' on the same single/EP. Oasis had some great B sides- for example I much preferred Stay Young to Do Ya Know What I Mean.

In fact my favourite Oasis album was The Masterplan which was a collection of B sides. I must dig out Rocking Chair

This was the B side (and much better side) of Roll With It.

I agree that the masterplan was probably oasis's best album, although I don't think they were all B sides (I am the walrus?)... they always seemed to put a lot of effort into their B sides but the performances were always a bit more relaxed and raw.

I was going to mention Half the World Away. Was this the b side of Whatever?

Fire on High- was that the B side of Can't get it Out of My head (great non-hit) or Livin' Thing.
Question Author
You are right chuck - I think The Masterplan was a collection of B sides plus stuff that they hadn't used on albums/singles, including a lot of Noel's acoustic stuff

This may be one of the best known Oasis tracks even though it was not a single (was it the B side of Don't look Back in Anger)

Thanks Mick. Although I had heard the title, Mick, I don't remember hearing Working Class Hero before- it wasn't a Radio 1 type lyric I suppose
Are they 'true' B sides if they have appeared on the album?
Question Author
Good point Mick. It was always more fun hearing something new and I felt cheated if the B side was something I'd already got on an album. Sometimes of course, though, the B side came out before it appeared on album.

Straighten Out by The Stranglers was a good B side that I don't remember being on an album
You could argue that there hasn't really been a B side since the late 80s, although at least CD singles did kinda have a B side type track on them.

Sadly with MP3 downloads taking over B sides may now be gone totally.

True chuck - most kids in my experience download tracks (illegally) onto their phones and have no concept of the idea of a B side
"most kids in my experience download tracks (illegally) onto their phones"

That in itself makes me sad too, I'm very much of the opinion that if you enjoy music then paying for it so the artist gets paid for it shouldn't be a problem.
Love-eye-tis B side of Private Number by Judy Clay and William Bell.
i don't know which single "Fire on High" was B side to, but my copy is on the reverse of an imported copy of "Evil woman.

for the truly bizarre, though, this would be hard to beat.......

That is bad- is it a backwards bit of Mouldy Old Dough plus a sample of 'They're coming to take me away haha' backwards plus a bit of ad libbing.
I definitely prefer Fire on High. I had it on the B side of something- maybe an import but not Evil Woman. I use to love buying US import singles-I used Oldies Unlimited for quite a few
