The Jam April 1982 (Ticket 4.50) Leeds Queens Hall. Brilliant gig. I remember them walking on stage and the atmosphere & antisipation (sp) for me as a 14 year old was something that will stay with me for ever.
It was the Propellerheads, ages ago about 1996/97, before I'd heard of them, playing some small Club in Bath - The Hub I think it was called. Was truely phenomenal!!
No stars awarded this time, as it would seem too much that I was judging the music and not the answer. But full marks to anyone who admits to their first gig being Duran Duran or David Essex !!
The Smiths at Cardiff Uni in 1985... when Morrissey was in his gladioli-wielding phase... spent most of the gig asphixiated by the black mohair jumper of the guy in front of me in the moshy bit!
Almost as memorable was The Smiths gig at the Newport Centre many years later when Morrissey decided (rather ill-advisedly, as it turned out) to dive off the stage into the outstretched arms of his adoring fans.... trouble was no-one caught him and he landed in a heap on the floor, clambered back on the stage and promptly exited stage left never to return :-P Never mind we enjoyed the 5 songs they played before the unfortunate incident, and I'm sure only his pride was hurt...

My parents let me go and see Slade, at Birmingham Town Hall, with my brother and sister, when I was 10. 1972 or 3. Never heard or felt anything like it and remember not being able to hear properly for hours afterwards. Also, I remember we had queued overnight to get the tickets which was good fun too.
I cant remember which i saw first, but both were fantastic at the time! It was 1978 & I went to see A/C D/C at Cambridge Corn Exchange, and Genesis at Knebworth near Stevenage. :-)
