Which bands would you class as part of the Brit Pop culture that ruled the 90s? Obviously the usual suspects of Oasis, Blur and Pulp, but who else came under this seemingly sparce category?

menswear , elastica, supergrass, embrace, bluetones, skunk anansie, a band with louise werner 9i can't remember thier name but i liked her..
Can only think of 1 more- The Verve
Yeah Elastica I think anyway.
The lovely Louise Werner was in Sleeper.
Cast ?

Shed Seven, The Audience.

Skunk Anansie were Brit Rock not Brit Pop - along with Feeder and Terrorvision et al. (That is, according to the journalists who needed to categorise everything within safe genres)

Garbage, Beautifull South, Space, Spice Girls + many many more......
The La's?
Dodgy?
Interesting article on BritPop :

I think this definitely discounts The Spice Girls from the genre. They were pure out and out pop, nothing to do with alternative rock.
No-one's yet mentioned The Stone Roses or Happy Mondays. Anyone remember Echobelly, The Mock Turtles, The Soup Dragons, Blameless, or Marion? (That's Marion the indie band, not to be confused with Marilyn, the third-rate Boy George copyist from the 80s).

WaldoMcFroog mentioned The Audience, or theaudience as they preferred to write it, whose vocalist was a certain Sophie Ellis-Bextor. Whatever happened to her? ;-)
Boo Radleys, Suede, Sugarcubes, Sundays...

However, even though i was quite young during this phenomenon, i can safely say the Spice Girls don't count!
