Here's a weird one, is anyone else driven mad by the modern music 'dip' where the bass note/kick drum should be ?
It's on the music for some advert at the moment and it drives me MAAAAD.
I assume it's some way to allow nasty cheap stereos sound good ?

Not sure what you mean by 'dip' or by 'bass note/kick drum'. If it's the ad on factor's link, I can only assume you mean the rhythmic phasing effect in the middle rather than the bass area. I don't like it either because it gives me a headache if I listen to it for too long (but then I'm an old f*rt anyway). I think it's a style more designed to create the trance-inducing/hypnotic effect you hear in some clubs. Rather than being a way of making a poor quality sound system sound better, a poor system would be likely to make it worse. On the contrary I'm sure fans of this type of music would find it much enhanced by a good system.

Yup, that's exactly the advert and music ! Maybe it's because I am an old f4rt, or just maybe because I have a good taste in quality music but this is just horrible.
In years gone by I used to repair DJ mixing units when they had this effect on the music !!!

I'll just crawl back under my rock.
