Does anybody know this song?

The singer is writing to his friend in South Africa and the title may be "can you?'  The first lines are "Wrote a letter to my dear friend in South Africe, her reply brought tears to my eyes"  some of the other words are "Can you...swim on any beach you want to? Can you....stay out late if you want to? Are there no signs around sayin we want no blacks in town , you must be livin in paradise"  I know it's a long shot, one of my old friends who was a DJ compiled a cassette for me years ago and I've lost it.  Thanks in advance.

"Can You" by Brian and Tony Gold ... from the 'Green Light' CD

Verse1

Wrote a letter to my dear friend
In South Africa
Honey brought tears to my eyes
Though she tried to do her best
To hide the pain she felt inside
It wasn't hard to read between the lines
When she said

Chorus:

Can you say anything you want to
Can you stay out late at night
If you want to
Are there no signs around
Saying we want no blacks in town
You must be living in Paradise

Verse2:

She said that she was sorry
Things weren't going right
That my neighbours dog
Was disturbing me at night
That I didn't get the raise of pay
I wanted the other day
That if there was a possibility
She would gladly swap her place with me

Repeat Chorus:

Verse3:

So obsessed was I
With the trivial things I wanted
My very liberties are taken for granted
But then I heard from my friend in Sough Africa
I had to stop and wonder
Her words came back to haunt me
When she asked (BOO)

Repeat Chorus:
