Sheet Music For Irish Washerwoman (Fred Hartley Arrangement Only)
10 Answers
Greetings each.
I am desperately trying to get hold of a keyboard/piano/organ copy of the above arrangement, which was a popular feature of many cinema organists back in the 50's/60's/70's.
Does anybody know of anyone who possesses a copy they might like to sell, lend or make a photocopy of for a reasonable reward please?
Be good!
Cheers.

The US Library of Congress catalogue shows that "Irish Washerwoman; transcribed Fred Hartley; orch. pts" was lodged with them with a US copyright date of July 5th 1939.
Far more interestingly though, it shows the publisher as Fred Hartley Publications Ltd (London), and a Companies House search shows that company to still be active. Try a letter to

Hi again guys.
I am wondering if I can mark both 'The Builder' and 'Buenchico' as giving the best answer? I actually went down that road a few weeks ago though! LOL
Following up on that information I discovered that Fred Hartley Publications Ltd does indeed still exist, but only as an administrative holding company for legal reasons. The publishing rights are now held by Sony/ATV/EMI Music Publishing Ltd.
I am now about to contact them as I did a few months ago, when they issued a waiver which allowed me to obtain a copy of another score from National Library of Australia.
The British Library here in UK holds a copy of all British publications, including the piece I am after, although I know they tend to be a bit pricey: so it's a case of :-) AND :-( here! I shall just have to suffer it.
You are a great bunch of guys. Thanks for all your attempts on my behalf.
Stay good!
Cheers.
