Daffy, if you wanted to give Jazz a go I'd suggest checking out the mixes put together by Adam Kvasnica:

He runs through genres of jazz and makes these exquisite little mixes which make it all rather accessible (to me at least)

I'm so glad I hate crowds if those are the prices for live gigs these days!
Madonna is definitely not worth £150 in my opinion, and I would got to a Stones concert if they paid me to, I have never rated them apart from a few of their songs.
Ed, thanks, I will have a listed to your recommendation later on and let you know what I think.

If Bon Jovi aren't your taste, then fair enough; I've seen them about 5 times. The recent ticket price increase has put me off enough to not go anymore. Some people need to realise we're in a recession and if we've gotta cut back, then why can't the high flyers take that on board, instead of constantly hiking their prices ??
The last tour they did, that really pi$$ed me off, was a few years ago, when the only gig they did in England was at the O2. Tickets were £199 each - this included coach, overnight stay in a hotel and gig tickets ..... nearly £400 for me and the missus - I don't fekin think so !!!!
(They might have done the odd gig in Scotland and Wales, but I can't remember).
Selling half price tickets will, in my opinion, only exacerbate things. Imagine if you'd paid full price for a ticket and you find out that tickets are now on sale at half price. The next time they tour, what are you gonna do ??? Well, I don't know about you, but I'd wait and see if half price tickets come up again !!
