I heard a song on the radio today that I haven't heard for years. The DJ said it was Elton John and 'The Love Song', but I don't think this was right. I though it was by something like Pink Floyd (but I'm probably way off track)
I think it came our in the seventies and is a soft melodic song, with vocals and simple guitar. The chorus is something like 'Do you know what I mean, (pause) Is life but a dream?' There are sounds of children playing in the background (like in a playground).
Sorry, I've not got a lot of info, and this is a bit of a long shot, but.... you never know, there are some clever people out there....and it is really getting to me.
Thanks for reading this.

Hi Tabby, There is a song called Love Song (Lyrics: Do you know what I mean, have your eyes really seen).  It has been performed by both Elton John and David Bowie.  The song appear on Elton John's greatest hits album 1970-2002.

This exact same question drove me mad a couple of months ago.I did a bit of searching and the song is definately Elton John's 'The Love Song'.

WOW,
Thank you both for putting me out of my misery. But I still have one question. CB, you said it was on Greatest Hits 1970-2002, but I have looked on a few sites (cd-wow, Sainsburys) and the track is not listed on this cd (or am I just blind?). Any ideas?
Thanks again,
Tabby
