I don't really know what I'm asking for here so bare with me on this........

Basically, I've seen this piece of kit called Teenage Engineering OP. This is way out of my price rage being priced at £640. I was wondering if there is anything similar for say around £150?

What I am looking for is a piece of kit that you can plug your headphones into and just create beats from scratch.........if that makes sense......i.e start off with one beat, then add in more sounds gradually by messing about with the sounds available on the device. I think what I'm after is like synthesizer sounds and beats to play about with but because I have never used anything like this I'm not sure. Its basically just to mess about with at home.

What you're looking for is a "loop sampler", I think. I've jusy googled it and there are several, from £100 upwards, mostly guitar effects pedals but I'm sure you could adapt one to your needs.

Just one page.
Is this the sort of thing that you want to do?
