Converting MP3s to a smaller size
1 Answers
Hi, Does anybody know how to make an MP3 smaller? I've downloaded a couple of MP3s from the internet and not all of them will fit onto my MP3 player... Does anyone know how I can make the files smaller? Many Thanks

Please be aware that while MP3 is a popular format it is also one of the oldest so reducing the bit rate will effect the quality and most people prefer at least 128kps for the music to sound reasonably cd quality,
The newer encoders such as AAC or OGG or WMA can use lower bit rates and still sound pretty good while reducing the file size.
A guick seach on google for free MP3 comverters will give you a good start.
Oh yes, its also possible that your MP3 player can be upgraded with more memory using SD cards or somesuch.
Good luck
