In 1987 this song, originally released in 1984, recharted reaching no.7 in the UK chart. Why did it re-enter the chart? What was behind its re-release?

It wasn't because that awful DJ Steve Walsh got hold of it and ruined it with "u what, u what, u what, u what" was it. 87 is about the time that dreadful remix came out.
Didnt (now deceased) Capital radio DJ, Steve Walsh do a cover of it in 1987?

Interestingly enough Cashflows song 'Mine all Mine' uses exactly the same hook.

Oh my word! I've just found that cover version on YouTube - truly dreadful!

Then again, I've also rediscovered the original Fatback Band version and
I guess the FB's record company must have rereleased their version due to the renewed interest in the song.

Think I'm right in saying Walsh's version only reached no.9, two places lower than the original.
