Hey, can anyone tell me what Green Day's song Holiday means? It sounds political to me, all though I only get some of the lyrics....Are they basically singing about being AGAINST the war with Iraq? or FOR the war?

For example, what's the whole piece with the "senator from California" trying to say with things like "Bombs away is your punishment"...and "we'll criticize your government"... etc...?

Maybe it's hard to tell from the UK perspective (I'm in the U.S.) but this song is top of the charts here and I have just been really curious about its meaning. Can anyone out there interpret Green Day? Thanx

I don't know the exact meaning of this song, but I do know that they are very anti-Bush and are definitely against the war in Iraq. I'm sure some AB know-it-all will be along shortly to dissect the lyrics for you, but I just thought I'd get my 2 cents in first....

OK, thanks soozmac..I was afraid of that...I like the song, but I can't say that I would agree with the anti-Bush'isms... The full lyrics are on this page....
