I'm just sitting on a fence
You may say I got no sense
Trying to make up my mind
Really is so hard to find
So I'm sitting on a fence

Or similar to those lyrics. Anyone know the title and artist please?

Could be this one from The Rolling Stones - Sitting On A Fence

Since I was young I've been very hard to
please
And I don't know wrong from right
But there is one thing I could never
understand
Some of the sick things that a girl does to a
man, so

I'm just sittin' on a fence
You can say I got no sense
Trying to make up my mind
Really is too horrifying
So I'm sittin on a fence

All of my friends at school grew up and
settled down
And they mortgaged up their lives
One things not said too much, but I think
it's true
They just get married cause there's nothing
else to do, so

I'm just sittin' on a fence
You can say i got no sense
Trying to make up my mind
Really is too horrifying
So I'm sittin on a fence

I'm just sittin' on a fence
You can say I got no sense
Trying to make up my mind
Really is too horrifying
So I'm sittin on a fence

The day can come when you get old and
sick and tired of life
You just never realize
Maybe the choice you made wasn't really
right
But you go out and you don't come back
at night, so

I'm just sittin' on a fence
You can say I got no sense
Trying to make up my mind
Really is too horrifying
So I'm sittin on a fence

It certainly sounds like the lyrics, but the song I am thinking of sounds too gentle, if you know what I mean, for it to be the rolling stones. I wonder if anyone else covered the song? And thanks so much for typing all the lyrics in, you must have the patience of a saint!

It could be one of these covers of the song:-

"The Housemartins" or
"Twice As Much"

Don't think The Housemartins is the same song and The Stones one is quite gentle (for them) lots of acoustic guitar, very medieval sounding, from their album 'Flowers'.

The Stones' version is quite gentle and it was done in the early / mid sixties.  They definately sang the song.  I think I have got in on an Album called 'Slow Rollers'.
