Itunes Refund

Is there a way ITunes can find out if you request for a refund for an album you've bought that you claim to be not working, even though it does?

Its a download therefore if it works once then basically it will work everytime. I am sure they check their downloads before releasing them. So the answer in my opinion would be yes they can find out.
