The Threepenny Opera (Dreigrochenoper) first opened in 1928, written by Bertold Brech and Kurt Wiell. Mack the Knife (Mackie Messer) was also sung by Kurt Wiells wife Lotte Lenya who Bobby Darin mentions in his version
