Song From The North-East
Can anybody help me with the name and the words for a song that I heard nearly 50 years ago? I can remember this bit
We went along a bit further and nothing could we find
Until we came to Durham jail
And that we left behind
The Englishman said it's Durham jail
The Scotsman he said nay
Wor Geordie said it's a lodging hoose
Where ye diven't have to pay
Many thanks in advance for any info

Hi Nibble and DrFilth I had already seen that particular site but it is the Geordie version I am after. That's the trouble with traditional songs etc. Each region has it's own version. So please don't fall out over who thought of that site first since it's not really what i am looking for. Thanks for trying to help.
