Cggeccddecc - Name That Tune? This Really Is A Crossword Question!

To complete a puzzle in this month's Crossword Club magazine, I have to 'play' the string of concealed letters in the grid, which reads cggeccddecc. Apparently this should give me a hint as to how to highlight four lights in the puzzle, which form two asymmetric crosses in the top left and bottom right quadrants of the puzzle. Trouble is, I've no idea what the tune is - can anyone with a better ear for music than mine please help?

doesn't really help you though - sorry!
here's an online keyboard that might help http://www.play-piano.org/play_online_piano_piano.html (but i don't recognise the tune)
The first five notes have the right pattern for "My Favourite Things" from The Sound of Music... the last five notes don't match up, though.
Are you sure of the letters? I can't get a tune I recognise out of them.
I thought the first five noted sounded like "Somewhere Only We Know" by Keane, but not the rest.

I have checked the letters (several times) and the 'Retiring in Style' blogger came up with exactly the same sequence. I know it's the right way round, too, from other instructions in the puzzle. The only other thing I can think of is that these might be chords from a guitar accompaniment rather than individual notes.
The title of the puzzle is 'The Story of O' - which will certainly be a cryptic allusion to something other than the obvious, so I can't see how that helps either. Anyway, thank you all for the suggestions!
I've tapped them out in that order on the piano and it didn't sound recognisable.
It sounds like Dvorak's New World Symphony, the Hovis advert music
It is similar to the New World Symphony, but it's not exact. Any other ideas?
