I also like that you've not tried to copy Mama Cass totally. However, you might like to revisit the verses, particularly the second lines. E.g. Night breezes seem to whisper 'I love you'. The note of the word "love" is Bb, not B#.
A keeper!
You set the bar pretty high, this song will always be associated with the very distinctive vocal of Cass Elliot.
In order to sing this song effecitvely, you need, in no particular order - a good vocal style, an ear for phrasing and timing, good breath control, an understanding of the inherant swing of the music, and confidence, because it is a difficult song to sing well.
You got all of the above in your performance - I know you are suffering with a cold, but you still snag well, ands your confidnce grew on the second chorus as you let your voice go.
Apart from the whistling, which you realised didn't quite hit it (!) your song is excellent, and you should be proud of it.
I think you are really cute!
