of all time have been assembled by the BBC and here is your chance to listen to and vote for them:

I'm not saying what I've voted for but am expecting Whole Lotta Love by Led Zep to be top, provided the 'kids' of today have actually heard of Jimmy Page et al!!

it might be my lap-top but that link isn't working for me.
Well the one that I would have voted for ain't on there.
Seems a strange list. I`m surprised Street Fighting Man by the Stones isn`t there. Or (one of my favourites) Romeo and Juliet by Dire Straits.
Probably the best 100 guitar riffs according to whoever made up the list.
Wheels by the Foo Fighters? Are they serious?

They missed this 70's classic from the list

And what about Stairway to Heaven? That always seems to be on every list, no matter what for.
Chill I know you are looking for riffs - so here goes riffffffffffffffffff. Just kidding.

Know this too isn't a riff but loved duelling banjos. Brilliant stuff.
Another classic, never tire of hearing it

Out of that list has to be Guns 'n Roses, Sweet Child of Mine, for me. But all time favourite? - Don't think so.
Actually, it wasn`t Street Fighting Man that I remember (although that was good). It was Gimme Shelter - surely one of the most memorable riffs of all time.

I too questioned why so many (what I consider to be) classics were missing.
Young Chill plays the sax and has recently turned to the guitar.
He tells me that a riff is different to a chord progression, hence some are not deemed riffs but chords.
That was his explanation, though I'm somewhat sceptical!
Another top riff missing from their list

How did they ignore this one?

Was there anything by Jimi Hendrix on that list? I don`t think there was.
I've voted for my favourite.

I had questions of my own i.e. why wasn't Message In A Bottle in there or Alternative Ulster by SLF? There were far better tracks too by the Manics, not to mention Dakota by the Phonics.
I voted for Hocus Pocus.

Yes 237SJ, one in there.
Good to see the Isley Brothers there. I always liked that song. You don`t get many soul guitar bands.
There's got to be a riff somewhere in this (discarded from list) 'classic'
