Did not know that he had done a version of Moscow Nights. The definitive jazz version was by Kenny Ball.

Sad news this morning. My old Dad used to like Acker Bilk very much and him playing "Stranger on the shore" on the gramophone is one of my earliest memories.

I was very sorry to hear this, I knew he was ill.

I have seen in a few times, the last concert he was too ill to do. His paramount jazz band performed without him.

Rest in peace Acker, you will be missed.
