Apparently it is done by weights in there shoes. I don't know how true this is tough.

It is possible that they use the same method as circus performers, most notably clowns. They have a small bracket fitted to the underside of their shoes (in the raised area between the heel and the sole) which engages with a clip that is fixed to the floor. In this position, it is possible to lean over at alarming angles. It mightn't be the same method as used by Michael Jackson but I have seen diagrams of it somewhere and hope that it is of help.
