Alan Freeman - Pick Of The Pops
Can anyone remember the name and artist of the classic Alan Freeman Pick of the Pops tune? Smashing Cymbols or something?
It's driving me crazy and nurse won't let me go to bed crazy.

"The theme tune ( 1961– 1966) was "At the Sign of the Swingin' Cymbal" written and performed by Brian Fahey and his Orchestra. It was later replaced ( 1966– 1970) with "Quite Beside The Point" by The Harry Roberts Sound. I vaguely remember that Birmingham library (UK) had a 'hum-line' where you could perform your version of a tune over the telephone and a very patient customer advisor would suggest a match.
Of course, no match for a thimgumy-line or AnswerBank expert.
