Re.Rolf Harris and Stairway To Heaven - leaving aside the difficulty in seeing him knowing what we know now -
this song does not exist in isolation.
It is one track on a 22-track album called The Money Or The Gun - derived from an Australian TV game show of the same name.
The producers hit on the novel idea of having a musical guest each week who would perform Stairway in their own individual style.
So - Rolf Harris performed in his own style, and Elvis clone did it in the timing of Viva Lass Vegas, The Beatnix, a Beatles cover band did it like it was I Wanna Hold Your Hand, the Australian Doors did it like Light My Fire, the list goes on, and the song works in every single style.
Prince recorded a version, but his was never broadcast - it was so amazing it was believed it would put anyone else off from ever trying the song again!
For the record, I absolutely adore Rolf's version, I saw him do it live at Glastonbury - and I am able to separate the art from the artist - whatever we know about Harris as an individual, does not detract from the cleverness employed to make this song.

Don reckoned that anything that kept his song in the public eye was a good thing.
I reckoned that this was a rehearsed diplomatic answer, and behind it was the reasoning that, no matter how bad it was, and Lord it was bad, he still get's writer's royalties every time it is played.

Sir Alec - whilst I entirely concur with your strong reaction to your perceived mistreatment of a favourite song, I think you may be doing the video personel an injustice.
It is more than likely that the people involved - with the exception of the Hawaiian-shirted gentleman who is probably a member of the band, and feels a level of entitlement in his inclusion - are professional models, miming to the singing and rapping.
It is rare to find talents for rapping and looking wonderful lodged in the same persona - hence the need to 'enhance' the images presented.
