In fairness I'd have figured the bumping of a thread onto the top of the latest posts listings was worth more than letting it fester in the unanswered listing, which won't be visited by all, and so seen by fewer wishing to help/contribute.

Me too, Bathsheba. I had my head in my hands last night reading this thread, thinking "Don't fight, ABers."
I would think that most people don't look on Unanswered Questions anyway nor go into individual Topics, but look at their own threads and Latest Posts.
I know this particular post is not useful but didn't want Bathsheba to feel she's a thread killer again (which she isn't).

The thread was from frustration , I too hate falling out and it stung that I couldn't comment on the original as the answer box had disappeared (it's now back).

Agreed a happy ending is good.
