We're putting on the musical "HONK!" (a musical adaptation of the ugly duckling, and I have been appointed the task of find some pre-show music. I want something that will make people laugh ideally, if not, something moving. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

'Down on Jollity Farm' would be an obvious choice. 'The Chicken Song' by Spitting Image should certainly make people laugh. 'Bantam ****' by Jake Thackray is a classic but possibly not suitable ;) Obviosuly avoid 'Ugly Duckling' becasue of the show.
Can't believe that word was asterisked out (It was the four-letter word for male bird!). You could get slightly lateral and play Fleetwood Mac's 'Albatross', or songs by the Eagles or the Sandpipers.

Jollity farm - the bonzo dog do dah band

The Woody Woodpecker song - Danny Kaye

Pukka chicken - Rolf Harris

Ain't nobody here but us chickens - Louis jordan

The Ugly Bug Ball - Burl Ives

try "nice weather for ducks" by lemon jelly. Ducks live on farms dont they?
.."the birdy song" by the tweets...

Let's Turkey Trot - Little Eva

The Funky Chicken - Rufus Thomas

Both lend themselves to use in a musical - I've done it.

its an old song don't know who sang it but its funny can't remember title somone may know it

It goes  There's   no-body here but us chickens.

There's another one  about when when will you lay me an egg for my tea.

Bright eyes - Art Garfunkel
...how about the theme from "I feel like chicken tonight , chicken tonight" adverts...

Free Bird - Lynyrd Skynyrd ?

Little Wing - Jimi Hendrix?

Norwegian wood - bird has flown and free as a bird by the Beatles.

And I will have to repeat Down on Jollity farm plus Mr Slater's parrot say's hello! and Ali Ba Ba's camel by the Bonzo dog doo dah band

"In the Mood" (as clucked by chickens) by Ray Stevens
Little Red Rooster.
