Well, I downloaded the song and dusted down the old martin and came up with this: The guitar starts with a
simple Am chord in the first position but it alternated between the A of the fifth string and the A of the 3rd string and C on the second string so x0xxxx followed by xxx21x (like a boom-char pattern). This then goes to the descending bass of 3xx21x, 2xx21x and finally 1xx21x. So the bass goes from A to G to F# to F while keeping the root and (flattened) 3rd of the Am. It resolves through D to C to Am (I hear Dm xx0231 and a Dm + C x30321 to Am x02210 though I prefer Dsus2 xx0230 to Dsus2 + C x30230 to Am). The middle 8 is the classic major-major7-7 progression (A x02220 Amaj7 x02120 A7 x02020) to D (xx0232) then Dm (xx0231). Then I hear the same descending bassline over an A major (x0222x, 3x222x, 2x222x, 1x222x). There is an inversion for the guitar break: xx7555, xx5555, xx4555, xx3555. I'm not tabbing the guitar solo! Another up the neck second guitar bit is x-x-x-x-10-8 to x-x-x-x-10-7.
