The old rock and roll tshirts.
You often see famous people wearing really old and tired looking tshirts with ACDC, aerosmith, blakc sabbath and guns n roses on them. Geri Halliwell is sporting one in this weeks Heat magazine. They were them in Waynes World. I was just wondering if anyone knew where u could get them - they always look really old. i dont even know if anyone know what im talking about.....

I live in Belfast and there used to be a shop called American Madness which sold these sorts of things, but then it closed down. I was gutted. But there is a shop called the Rusty Zip which sells old style clothes etc. You probably dont live in Belfast though. You could try going to the official G 'N' R websites etc to try and get old t-shirts. Its probably some of these trendy shops that sell them. I'm trying to get the sort of clothes the Strokes wear but its proving hard, so if anyone can help me please let me know
Markets are a good place to look - in London, there's a stall in Camden dedicated to selling these shirts. They went through a stage of being quite fashionable (ie before Halliwell started wearing them!) and consequently prices went through the roof. Or, if you're as old as me, ferret around in thje back of your cupboard and find some original tour shirts.
Personally, I always want to know why people like the woeful Halliwell wear such t-shirts. They don't like the music, wouldn't know one of said band's rock song if it came up and did the devil fingers sign at them and always look like they're desperately trying to buy into someone else's kind of cool... Why not stick to what one likes, rather than buying into someone else's lifestyle? Wayne's World was written by people who actually like rock music , as was Spinal Tap, and which is why they work - rock fans recognise themselves. In fact, rock fans get far more out of Spinal Tap than people who know nothing about it - they get the in jokes! I don't buy t shirts for useless manufactured acts, so why should they buy t shirts for the bands I like? Sorry, but I have no sense of irony when it comes to music - it's too important for that. Bah Humbug!
