Way way back in the 60's/70's this young lady had a great hit song - a one-off wonder, but can anyone hel[ me remember the Title?? The only other time I have heard her is in a duet with Barry Manilow singing 'Don't Talk to me Of Love'

Go to her website mireilleemathieu.com. It's obviously mostly in French but you might be able to recognise the song title. Or go to Google and search for her - there are loads of other webpages for her too.

Thank you for your input Flirty, but I beg to differ !! I have searched Google several times to no avail and she appears on very few webpages except where being mentioned as appearing on disc with Barry Manilow!! It is this teack, loved by both myself and my late husband, that brought back memories of her first hit - but try as I might I cannot remember what it was !! Thanks again for trying. Joy

Ooops !! Sorry Flirty !! My spelling is not what it should be and I was misspelling Matheiu !!! I HAVE found all the sites you refered to - but still not yet recognised the one that went straight into the charts and everyone was singing (at the time!!) Thank You - and excuse my first reply !! Joy
Joy - I've been looking through the Guinness Book of British Hit Singles - Mireille Mathieu is listed with only one song "La Derniere Valse" (The Last Waltz). It got to number 27 in the charts 13th December 1967.

Hi Cetti THANK YOU !! I KNEW I should know that song !!! And now it has all come back. Even though the Lady still sings I was certain ( as you have confirmed) that she didn't do very well over here and that the song I remembered her for was the only one to reach the charts.... At last I can sleep again :-) Thank you - Joy
