Enjoyed that, Chris.
Not snoozing now.
Question Author
Thanks, Tony.

The Refreshments are superb musicians. (Of course Albert Lee's presence helps on that track but they're still damned good without him!)
Not snoozing, was just watching the new drama on BBC2.

Ta Buen.
Well I wasn't falling asleep.....just looking around for some music to go with my fifteen minutes of cardio exercise.....I may have overdone it with this..... :-(
Cheers Chris,
Got major sleep problems and now after listening to that am now looking at Johnny B Goode vids
(Because I love Chuck Berry)
Thanks m8
;-)
Question Author
Thanks, Mamya.

Gness:
Just think of it as time-saving. You managed 15 minutes of exercise in under a third of the time ;-)

Slade, Dave? Surely they're only allowed out at Christmas time, aren't they? ;-)
(Thanks, anyway)
Question Author
Happy to help, Nailit ;-)
Wide awake again now Chris. I need a lullaby to bring me back down;-)
Albert Lee, hardly recognised him Chris.
In case you're all falling asleep...

Something like this ladybirder?

Chris,
just to put my mind at rest...that *IS* a rip off of Johnny B Goode isn't it?
Question Author
That takes me back, JD33. The Billy Cotton Band Show was something never to be missed in our house when I was a kid.

That's a great tune, Cap'n, but I suspect that it might not be quite the sort of 'lullaby' that Ladybirder was looking for ;-)

LB: Try this instead ;-)

Question Author
Nailit:
It's not really a 'rip off'.

'Johnny B Goode' and 'Let It Rock' do, indeed, sound similar but that's probably because they were both written by (and originally performed by) Chuck Berry.

Oh right Chris, thanks.
Anyway...

Man, I LOVE this....
Question Author
It's hard to beat a bit of good ol' rock'n'roll, Nailit, especially when it really powers along.

Here's Chuck Berry's live version of 'Let It Rock' but I have to admit to preferring the Refreshments version (probably because of the way that the sax player and pianist drive it along just as much as the drummer does):

Have to admit Chris, after just listening to Chucks version, I *DO* prefer ur 'Refreshments' version. :-)
Question Author
If nothing else, Nailit, it proves that Abba aren't the only good Swedish band ;-)
Funny how a lot of 50's rock n roll musicians all copied each others songs I thought.
I loved Chucks version of Promised Land better than Elvis's.
I loved Elvis's version of Thing Called Love better than Johhny Cash's
etc,
