Roll back the years

Question Author
Whoo hoo Class another Roses fan. Been alone on here for years. Saw them at Heaton Park and the Itihaad ......Great nights.
Sorry Tony, only just saw your question.
Dad worked at English Steel where he invented a machine that they still use in steel works.
He then worked at a place called Robertsons in Luton.
Then he moved to (Hush-Hush), Hunting Engineering in Ampthill, where they made missiles, which were sent to Russia and he was part of the invention of the cluster bombs which were first tried out in the Falklands.
When he realised what they'd been used for, he was really upset and guilty, so he was thrilled to be part of an "idea" his co-worker had for a machine that was remote controlled and diffused bombs. The prototype was called "The Wheelbarrow" 'cause of the shape of it. It's now apparently called "The Goliath". He would've been so happy to know how far it's come and how many lives it's saved!
Your dad was quite a bit more than a fitter, Sir A.
Very clever engineer by the sounds of that.
Prefer the 12" version, but it's veeery long!

Yes, Tony, that's why I was so offended by Sqad on that Thatcher thread, insinuating that being born in Attercliffe, Sheffield, was such a bad thing! My Dad was born in Fleet Street, Attercliffe. It was flattened during the war and is a warehouse now, as far as I know!

Wow see that post @ 22:26? Credit due. For the people who posted Glen Millar in memory of relatives, I hope they would have liked this.

Quite a revolting video, but great song......

Give it a shrug Class. ignorance has no intellectual or educational ceiling. Just an understanding one.
Don't be offended by sqad, Sir A.
( doubt very much if he knows much about engineering ).
Hahaha, Togo! When my Dad found out that I like Louis, he said, "Bloody 'ell! That's even before my time!"
I love to impersonate Louis and this is my favourite to sing!
