Is there a website or some sort of listing that lists every song released in a year?

I doubt it, there would be literally hundreds of thousands. Due to the nature of my work, I have access to one that lists most of them but even that site has items missing that I know have been released. The site is a subscription one and we at work pay hundreds of pounds per year to access it. I would imagine that any similar one would also charge as their database would be huge.

The closest I've found is this: http://www.everyhit.com/

It shows every song that has ever got int the top forty since the charts began. Hope this is of some help.

Hi One of my many music books is one by Collins, it has the complete uk Hit Singles 1952-2004, so it needs updating now, you can get it in Waterstones or Borders, alsoa book by Dave McAleer called Hit Singles top 20 charts from 1954 to the present day, with not only the british charts but the american charts as well. Take it your a music boff, so these books are ideal and are excellent. Put them on your christmas list.
