Help Finding A Singer And Song Please

This is a bit vague but it’s all I can remember...

A deep voiced male from a good three decades ago.

Although I think he was a bit overweight he wore I think caftans and that sort of thing.

I am almost sure he sang a song that had in it somewhere the words ‘oh yea’ ina slow deep way that indicated, well enjoyment ;-)

He reminds me of the coloured school principle in one of those American cartoons.

Almost certaintly Barry White. Maybe Demis Roussos but he wasn't an Oh yeah man- or coloured to the extend Barry was .

Barry white was mainly mid-late 70s though- over 40 years ago.
