I still listen to my old cassette tapes on my old cassette/CD player. Don't think the new releases would be quite my cup of tea though!

Cassettes were relatively cheap, cheerful, handy; I loads, mostly self recorded, that I no longer get around to playing. Not bought any for years and surprised there's been an upsurge, but as a format they should still be handy.

That's interesting, only this week while clearing out I came across 6 cassettes of me being recorded doing NVQ assessments about 20 years ago and realised I had no way to listen to them anymore.

I still have a cassette player and sometimes listen to my tapes. In a way they're better than CDs because if you have to stop listening you can pick up where you left off. I still have videos but my player has seen better days. Perhaps they'll return too!

My man has both record decks and one of those enormous 1980's (apparently really collectable) ghetto blasters that play tapes, I think a fair few people do actually.

I still possess a tape recorder (part of my vintage Technics hi-fi) bought when I was a teenager. (ten to fifteen years ago)

Never play a cassette though but put a blank one in it because it acts as an amplifier if you press play and record together.

It's a fad, and may gain a little traction through the need for some to be 'retro hip' - but as a serious music medium, its day has long gone.

I used to keep a pen or pencil handy to shove the petulant free-roaming tape back into its housing.

Not forgetting the completely illegal practice of pressing record to tape the top 20 via dial-a -disc
