Love this song but the synth bit sounds familiar and very similar to an 80s disco tune. Does anyone know which song from the 80s please? Cheers

I know that it's a built-in feature with modern pop songs, but why do female vocalists sound like something from another planet?

They voices are produced and vo-coded to a point where they stop sounding human.

Often used to describe an outdoor toilet too.
I must be hearing it wrong but I can't get anything from Chic in that song.
Neither do I, 237SJ.

Good grief!

Annnyyyway, back to the song........it's got a similar sound to Chic. Not exactly but hint of.
Question Author
Ok, so can anyone think of another song from disco era / 80s with a similar sound?
The only bit I get is a tiny, tiny bit of Forbidden Colours by David Sylvian but I don't think it's that either.
Question Author
I'm not getting the Forbidden Colours thing. Love the song though and Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence.
The first 6 or 7 seconds reminds me of 70's Fleetwood Mac.
Question Author
'Why' also has changed synth bit and it's slower. That's another possible.
I would imagine it's just a sound that has been produced in a studio by someone and not sampled from a song.

Little lies?

Stevie Nicks is Miley Cyrus's favourite singer so I guess that could be it.
