Yes it's a band rather than an individual. Mazzy Star's singer was called Hope Sandoval. I think she's now married to one of the Reid brothers from the Jesus and Mary Chain and I think Mazzy Star are no more. What useless info I have in my head eh?

Mazzy Star released three albums that are still available - She Hangs Brightly, So Tonight That I Might See and Among My Swan. Their best known song is the sublime Fade Into You which is the first track on So Tonight... . Hope Sandoval also provided guest vocals on Jesus And Mary Chain's Sometimes Always (another wonderful track -which can be found on JAMC's Stoned And Dethroned album) and now fronts Hope Sandoval And The Warm Inventions whose website can be found at www.hopesandoval.com .
